Managing complications is one of the most delicate challenges for the oral surgeon and implantologist. Recognising them early, knowing how to prevent them and dealing with them competently is only possible through sound anatomical knowledge and rigorous surgical technique.
This course takes a systematic look at the main intra- and post-operative complications in oral surgery and implantology, with a specific focus on neurological, bone and vascular lesions. The approach is concrete and practice-oriented: each speaker brings his or her own specialist experience to offer participants immediate and applicable operational guidance.
During the day, the anatomical structures of major surgical relevance, the latest guidelines and recommendations for good clinical practice, the neurophysiology and management of lingual and inferior alveolar nerve injuries, and treatment strategies for bone infections from an interdisciplinary perspective will be analysed. Ample space will be devoted to techniques for nerve identification, protection and repair during the most common surgical procedures, with evaluation of prognostic aspects and functional recovery.
A course designed for those who want to approach surgical complexity with greater awareness, reducing the risk of complications and improving the management of those that, inevitably, may arise.
