Surgical procedures in the treatment of impacted lower third molars represent situations that are frequently encountered in clinical practice in the dental office. Although they are common and routine procedures, they are not without complications.
The aim of the course is to provide current guidelines and the correct approach to the most frequent clinical surgical situations by showing the most appropriate preoperative evaluations for each. Particular attention will be paid to the correct protocol for the surgery of impacted teeth by showing the choice of a suitable flap design, the precautions for the avulsion of the elements according to their position and dental anatomy, and the indications for the execution of surgical sutures.
Trainees will also be shown an extensive review of the possible complications associated with this type of surgery and guidelines for proper management. A part of the course will be devoted to viewing clinical videos of lower third molars in different inclusion positions that will allow better learning of the protocol.
